World of Vision Optometrists was established as Spectacle Warehouse Lifestyle Centurion, in April 2008.  Owner managed since then by Yda van der Post and James Stokes.

Since inception, we take great pride in our clinical expertise as Optometrists, with a special interest in Children’s vision, Sports vision and contact lenses, delivering exceptional eye care.

Enhancing our clinical expertise is our massive selection of frames and sunglasses in a wide range of prices.  We pride ourselves on having the widest selection of children’s frames in Centurion.

Our on-site Optical laboratory is fitted out with the latest technology in lens manufacturing, lens fitting and spectacle repairs.  We keep a huge stock of uncut spectacle lenses and can make a variety of prescriptions the same day. Especially with emergency or urgent repairs and replacements in mind.

We accept most medical aids and have VisionWise cash offers and payment options when your medical aid has run out.

James Stokes

James Stokes

Optical Dispenser / Owner

James Stokes has qualifications in both the business and Optometric facets of the firm. During his 22 years in the industry, he has come to realise the importance of getting to the real need of the patient and fulfilling that need in the most satisfactory and cost-effective way possible. He is involved in a lot of the “behind-the-scenes” aspects that secure the vast array of services and massive frame selection the business has become renowned for. Corporate and social investment also forms part of his passion/duties.

As a conventional family man, he is very involved in the community and his son’s schools. Hunting, fishing and being outdoors with his wife and boys are what he does to recharge and maintain focus.

Customer satisfaction and the building of a long-term relationship with all the patients is his primary objective as only this can ensure a thriving and sustainable business for the future.

Optometrist / Owner

Yda qualified as an Optometrist in 1991 and has been involved in various facets of the industry ever since. Over time she has successfully managed to juggle being a mom and a successful business woman. She prides herself on being an excellent clinician and takes the interests of her patients to heart. She has a special interest in Pediatric vision and children with learning disabilities.

She enjoys travelling and loves spending time with her family and their beloved Schnauzers. As springbok gymnast, she realised the value of making exercise part of her daily routine from an early age. Her passion for what she does forms the cornerstone of her interaction with every patient.

Chantellé van der Merwe

Chantellé van der Merwe

Optometrist (since 2015)

Chantellé qualified as an optometrist at UJ in 2006.

She loves working with contact lenses, going to the gym and stepping classes as well as spending time with her friends, family and watching movies.

Michael Labuschagne

Michael Labuschagne

Optical Dispenser (since 2008)

Michael is an optical dispenser. He interacts with all patients advising on different lens types, thicknesses, tint and frame selection. He loves working with people and that he can help them and gets tremendous satisfaction when they receive their spectacles and they are happy with the specs.

His hobbies include playing golf and the guitar.

Christiaan Botha

Optical Dispenser (since 2015)

Christiaan is a social dynamic specialist. A foodie & coffee lover, who loves reading, running road races, shark wrestling and music. He has 17 years experience in the optical field.

Melissa Beukes

Melissa Beukes

Front-liner (since 2013)

Melissa has been working at World of Vision as a front-liner/dispenser since April 2013. What she loves the most about her job is helping people and working with different patients every day. Also seeing patients put on their specs for the first time.

Her hobbies include watching movies and spending time with her family and friends; she also likes exploring and experiencing new things.

Christine Maseke

Christine Maseke

Front-liner (since 2009)

Christine joined the team in March 2009. She is a front-liner and deals with contact lenses as well.

She loves meeting different clients and helping them solve any problems they may experience with their vision. She is especially happy when they receive their spectacles and see the world differently. Her hobbies include reading and singing.

Frances Prinsloo

Frances Prinsloo

Stock Controller (since 2012)

Frances is a stock controller and responsible for ordering, selecting and barcoding all the stock that come to the practice, like frames and lenses. She enjoys finding specific frames for every need.

She started as a front-liner and was later promoted to stock controller. Her hobbies include motorbiking and playing the guitar.

Michael (Mike) Ndlovu

Michael (Mike) Ndlovu

Debtors & General Duties (since 2011)

Michael loves helping people. His hobbies include soccer and reading.

Nico Steyn

Nico Steyn

Optical Technician

Nico is the newest member of the team and with years of experience in various Optical laboratories, brought a wealth of expertise with him. His kind, precise nature fits perfectly in his daily role, impressing clients with his skills to cut, fit and repair spectacles, every time delighted with a happy client.

Nico enjoys the cultural side of life and loves singing and playing guitar and drawing. He enjoys hiking.

Pierre van Zyl

Pierre van Zyl

Optical Technician (since 2014)

Pierre started in September 2014 as a training technician. With his energetic personality and eagerness to learn, he can enjoy the satisfaction and relief on his client’s faces when he can repair spectacles that seemed destroyed.

He has grown to be a keen part of the team and enjoys cutting, fitting and make spectacle lenses. He enjoys all sports especially rugby.

Shinandé Mostert

Shinandé Mostert

Marketing Assistant (since 2015)

Shinandé interacts with clients in various forms. She’s constantly on the phone reminding clients to return for their annual examinations. She loves to be active on social media and promoting World of Vision.

Eggy Ndlovu

Eggy Ndlovu

House keeper (since 2010)

Eggy loves helping both young and old people with vision problems, to see better.

Her hobbies include going to church and singing.
